SLK 55 AMG is now more dynamic: new front spoiler and darken projectors give this unique roadster with a very good engine of 8 cylinders a more athletic impression. Impression that can be felt on road and when it is parked too.
Technicians say that maneuverability was optimized too for a better response to driver commands. For the first time, car disposes a new turn system with servo variable assistance, that makes the 360 hp car more agile and maneuverable. SLK 55 AMG is also the only car from it’s class that has a V8 engine, while the AMG SPEEDSHIFT 7G-TRONIC gearbox offers a faster response time.
Specific image that new roadster has is now even more pronounced, because of exterior modifications: a rethought spoiler with a better shape of arrow, a modified Mercedes star, bigger air vents and a horizontal bar painted in black. Next to those characteristics that assure a masculine shape, AMG style can be found easily in car body, especially in back spoiler and lateral ones.
Headlights and large rear-view mirrors assure an improved visibility, in front as back too. Wheel rims are painted in titanium-grey and have 18 inches, being made from fusible alloy. Brakes are assured by an advanced AMG system with ventilated disks
Under the impressive hood can be found an AMG engine of 8 cylinders of 5,5 l, that can reach 360 hp and maximum torque of 510 Nm. Car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4,9 seconds and reaches 200 km/h in 17,5 seconds, stopping at electronically limited speed of 250 km/h. Car’s power is connected to wheels by AMG SPEEDSHIFT 7G-TRONIC admission.
It has a functional interior and denotes sportsmanship, here referring at ergonomic steering wheel in Mercedes star shape, lined with leather. Speed indicator numbers rise to 320 km/h, and sport seats hold a tapestry and custom shape adapted for dangerous turns.
