After a long overdue all you wagon lovers can admire the Audi A4 Avant witch is said to be the best premium station wagon of its class-offers due to its superb drivability and uncompromising quality, a high elegance and intelligent functionality vehicle. The A4 Avant will be available for sale in spring ’09 in European markets but there will be a 1.8 TFSI attraction model Avant with 88 kW (120 hp) for 27,550€ available in fall ’08.
The interior is light and spacious with high quality workmanship and very sophisticated looks, taking some features from the A8. The manual parking break was replaced by a new ingenious electromechanical parking break and A4 Avant also has a whole new climate control system that has 10% increased cooling capacity, saving 0.2 liters of fuel per 100 km. Audi has raised the peak with the adaptive airbags, belt tensioners with variable belt force limiters and seat position sensors on the front seats witch will save the passengers life by controlling the airbag deployment and belt tension on the seat position and accident severity. Audi A4 Avant will be launched with two gasoline engines (3.2 FSI, 1.8 TFSI) and two diesel engines (2.0 TDI, 3.0 TDI) having a range between 105 kW (143 hp) to 195 kW (265 hp).The best part is the greatly reduced fuel consumption on both types of engines (gasoline engines -12%, diesel engines – 9%) while improving the performance by 8% thanks to the direct fuel injection technology. The 3.2 FSI is the most powerful of the four with 195 kW (265 hp) and 330 Nm (243.40 lb-ft) torque between 3,000 and 5,000 rpm. It reaches 100km/h (62.14 mph) in 6.4 with a max speed of 250 km/h (155.34 mph)
The front axel was moved 154 millimeters (6.06 inches) forward for perfect distribution of the axel loads, improving handling and ride comfort at once. Audi has incorporated the Avant with some high-tech systems design to help you park or warn you of hazards when changing laneand others.A4 Avant has 50 cubic feet of cargo capacity in the back being five inches larger then the outgoing model but up to 10% lighter.
