BMW is preparing a rival for Mercedes CLS and Audi’s upcoming A7. Presented on 34rd April 2010 at the Beijing Motor Show, Gran Coupe concept is one of the most beautiful BMW sites that I’ve ever seen. Is the classic recipe: combine low and sporty silhouette of a coupe with the practicality of a saloon and get a limocoupe.
Mercedes-Benz CLS tone and extraordinary success of this model has led others to develop such models. BMW gave the first signal that would like to enter this segment was in 2007 when it was presented beautiful CS Concept in Shanghai. But came the financial crisis and BMW put the project on hold.
Now the theme is resumed, all in China. Adrian van Hooydonk creation, the BMW Concept Coupe Gran has a length of about five meters and a height of only 1.40 meters and is 10 inches shorter than the 7 Series. Doors are rimless glasses, and the car has all the elements seen in a BMW coupe: long wheelbase, long hood and engine shaped, low silhouette, low glass surface and unfailing item “Hoffmeister Foreign Kink (curving contour of the rear window).
