The Stilo is an Italian small family car produced as a 3-door and a 5-door hatchback. It was launched to replace Fiat Bravo; Fiat Brava with the Stilo MultiWagon following in 2002.Stilo was equipped originally with a 1242 DOHC 16 valve engine with an output of 80 horsepower combined with a 6 speed manual gearbox. Fiat Stilo had also two more sportive engine choices a 102 horsepower 1.6 liter engine and a 2.4 L engine combined with Fiat’s Selespeed 5 speed semi-auto gearbox. The replacer of the Bravo got quite many critics about it styling, and excessive weight. As the model aged the amount of equipment got smaller.
The Stilo was the first car worldwide to use the TRW Column-Drive Electric Power-Assisted Steering (EPS).For MY2006 the Stilo got face lifted with a new grill and changes in the interior. The abarth version got changes also in the taillights and a new gearbox. In all the Stilo was not what Fiat expected it to be it was a sales disappointment.
