The X6 is a luxury crossover released in 2008 by BMW. It combines the attributes of an SUV with the stance of coupe. Firstly the X6 was available in two variants, both with twin turbocharged engines. The top of the line model is the xDrive50i which uses an 4.4L twin turbocharged V8 engine which produces 402 hp (300kW) and 600 Nm.
BMW released also a high performance variant called X6 M which got on the market in 2009 it’s engine produced 547 hp (408 kW) and a torque of 680 Nm. Other new things to the M version were a 6 speed M Sports Automatic transmission, an upgraded brakes and 20 inch alloy wheels. In late 2009 another version was released this time a Hybrid. ActiveHybrid X6 which is the most powerful hybrid vehicle in the world it produces 485 hp when it uses both electric and petrol engine. The driver has a choice of 3 modes, using the petrol engine, driving on electrical only and using both. Electrical drive mode can push the car up to 37 mph. The hybrid also uses stop-start technology to ensure better fuel economy.
