Mazda is one of the brands known for panache. Usually B-segment car meant to be small, inexpensive and economical which means not much panache. But Mazda wants to change it. The architecture of this car is same as the Ford Fiesta. In subcompact segment this car will stand out as an eye catcher with its fabulous styling. Mazda2 2011 has a 1.5 liter engine with variable valve timings. This small engine produces a power of 102 hp and a torque of 101 lb-feet. The Mazda2 comes with a manual five speed transmission and an optional automatic transmission as well. As per the fuel economy is concerned Mazda2 is rated 29 mpg in city and 35 mpg on the highway. In case of automatic transmission it’s rated at 27 mpg in city and 33 mpg on highways. Mazda2 still uses a set of drum brakes at rear. Mazda2 is able reach a speed of 60 mph in 9 seconds. Security features include ABS, EBD, traction control, six air bags and stability control system. The advantages include Excellent for city ride as it’s a hatchback, economical too and also takes less space for parking. However the car has also got certain disadvantages like the rear seat doesn’t completely fold flat, engine lacks power as it is completely tuned for fuel efficiency.
