The car was unveiled in 2009, and will get in production in the mid-2010 in Europe and mid-2011 in USA. SLS AMG is currently used as a safety car in 2010 Formula One Season. The car’s design is inspired by the 300SL Gullwing. SLS Has a long bonnet and the driver and passenger seats are quite close to the rear axle the rear of the car is quite short also. The SLS uses a 6.3 L V8 engine producing 563 hp (420 kW) with 7 speed dual clutch semi-auto transmission and the unique thing Is the transfer from the transmission to the axle which happens with a carbon fiber driveshaft. The SLS AMG can accelerate from 0-62 mph in 3.8 seconds and the top speed is electronically restricted to 197 mph (317 km/h). The Exterior is built of aluminum only and is the only road going Mercedes next to the CL65 AMG with the ALUBEAM paint available.
