Lancia will ship in October the new Ypsilon range of the current It differs because it has slight changes in the body, new names for the trim levels and a broader range of diesel and gasoline engines. The engine range consists of two diesel and three gasoline. Diesels are a 75-16V 1.3 Multijet and 90 bhp (with particulate filter as standard). Although Lancia calls this engine 1.3, its capacity is 1.2 l. The Ypsilon was launched in 2003 had a variant of this engine but with 69 hp. These two Diesel engines can have a five-speed manual gearbox or an automatic clutch driven (which Lancia called DFN). In a 1.2 l petrol is 60 hp and two 1.4 liter 77 hp (with eight valves) and 95 hp (sixteen valves). The 95 hp gasoline may have a manual gearbox or an automatic six-speed robotized. All other gasoline engines can only have five-speed manual gearbox. In the new Ypsilon four names depending on the level of equipment “Argento”, “Oro Bianco”, “Oro Giallo” and “Platinum”.
