The weight of the 2011 Porsche has been reduced by 176 pounds compared to previous cars in Boxster series. In order to save weight of 2011 Porsche Boxster Spyder, some of the non-essential features like air-conditioning and radio have been removed from the standard edition. Of course they can be added as optional features. The reduction in weight gives a sharper driving experience. Porsche cars are rear engined. The engine is 3.4 liter, flat six- cylinder. That means the cylinders are placed inline flat fashion. This flat arrangement of cylinders helps to lower the center of gravity of Porsche. It produces a peak power of 320-hp, around 10 hps more from previous Boxsters, and a torque of 270 pound-feet. The engine is fitted to either six-speed manual transmission or optional seven speed PDK dual clutch automated manual transmission. The 2011 Porsche Boxster Spyder can rip to a speed of 60mph in 4.6 seconds and has a top speed of 166 mph. This car was released in February 2010 in US market with a price tag of $62,150. As per fuel efficiency is considered, the EPA ratings for 2011 Porsche Boxster Spyder is a 19 mpg in city and a 27 mpg on highways.
