Sustainable energy supply in the fast growing world is facing serious challenges on account of depleting fossil fuels and associated environmental impacts. Electric Vehicles (EV) are the right replacement for the conventional gasolin powered cars to move towards a Eco-Friendly green earth. Think Green….Think REVA, Reva was originally formed in 1994 as a joint venture between the Indian family owned Maini group and AEV of the United States. GM announced an alliance with Reva last year to provide the vehicle platform and manufacturing facilities for the new electric car. Reva, best known for its G-Wiz car, will now be renamed as Mahindra REVA Electric Vehicle Co Ltd. Its purchase of a majority share of Reva will allow the firms to extend electric vehicle product development and manufacture. In 2011 they will start producing Reva NXG, which has got a stylish design. This 2 door, fully automatic EV with removable Targa Top also has dual charging ports for regular and fast charge. It has got a driving range of 200 kms (125 miles) it can reach a top speed of 130 kmp (80mph). Some luxury features it has got are rear camera, alloy wheels, dual SRS airbags, Impact sensing door unlock, keyless entry and operation.
