The Ascari FGT features a 4 litre BMW engine along with a ZF 5 spd DS-5/25 transmission. After sometime the FGT was face lifted to make it an Ascari Ecosse model. For Ascari Ecosse model the interior was changed, the wiring systems were updated as well as the braking system which was upgraded. The model featured a Hartge 4.6 litre BMW engine. During the end of Ecosse production the model received a Hartge 5.0 litre engine and a 6 speed box, however it was changed to a 5 speed unit. Another 4.6 litre Ecosse was introduced which had a Quaife 6spd sequential gearbox.
