The 1957 Pontiac Star Chief was introduced during 1954-1966 which featured new missile-shaped side trims, a lower hood, more massive front bumper, flatter tailfins, 4 stars on the rear side trim and slightly modified fin details. The car was a luxurious convertible which had served as a premium model for Pontiac. The Pontiac Star Chief’s design was very much identical as the Catalina and the only difference was under-hood. The car had standard higher horsepower engine along with interior trim upgrades as well as built atop a longer Bonneville platform. From 1967, the Pontiac had almost stopped using the Star Chief name and later mid-priced model was introduced as the Pontiac Executive.
