

The Maserati 5000 GT was the first vehicle featured 4.5-liter V8 engine and 4 or 5 speed ZF gearbox along with a double-plate clutch to its rear wheels. The car also had 16 inch wheels and 5-speed gearbox that was able to reach a top speed of around 184.6 mph (297 kph). The V8 engine was also increased to about 4953 cc along with a lower compression ratio. The car became a best Grand Tourer that was available in the market at that time. Another 5-speed ZF transmission was model was introduced later along with a 4-wheel disc brakes and a Frigikar air conditioning.
