

The 1970 McLaren M8D is an elite race car that featured an 8 liter engine that produced 700 bhp and due to the reliability it was replaced with 7.6 liter. The car also received a name as Batmobile due to its new aerodynamic features. The 1970 McLaren M8D had wider, longer and bigger design than any Can-Am car and it was also about 8 inches wider compared to M6A along with extra space holding fuel. The 1970 McLaren M8D chassis was made of aluminum alloy sheets along with a magnesium floor. The car entered its first as Gardos McLaren at Wanneroo race circuit in the Perth during 1972.
