

The Bugatti Type 55 featured a short 108.3 in (2750 mm) wheelbase along with light weight of about 1800 lb (816 kg). It also had a 2.3 L (2262 cc/138 in³) straight-8 engine that was used in the Type 51 models that had 2 2-valve DOHC unit which were able to produce 130 hp (96 kW) and a 5000 rpm. The Bugatti Type 55 also featured a 4-speed manual transmission which was used in the Type 49 touring car and about 38 samples were introduced during the year 1932 to 1935. The car was a road-going model of Type 54 Grand Prix car and also had Roots-type supercharger.
