The Jeep Scrambler also known as CJ-8 was introduced in the year 1981 which had a wheelbase of 2,616 mm, removable half-cab that looked like a small pick-up style box. It also featured a traditional transfer case, manual front-locking hubs to support four-wheel drive along with 4 and 5 speed manual transmissions and a 3 speed automatic transmission was available as an option. The Jeep Scrambler had special wheels, tape graphics and full length steel hardtop. The steel hardtop used a hinged barn door opening behind the vehicle. The vehicle was widely sold in places like United States, Australia and Venezuela with different names.
