

The Brabham BT46 is a formula one car which was introduced during the 1978 Formula One season. The car featured a 2995 cc flat-12 engine including fuel injection and electronic ignition was able to produce about 520 bhp along with a 6-speed gearbox. The Brabham BT46 also had magnesium or aluminum cylinder heads, cast magnesium alloy engine block along with aluminum alloy crankcase and 4 gear driven valves per cylinder. It was actually a very heavy and bulky car due to its engine and difficulties of packaging the large. The body was made with aluminum alloy monocoque which also had a trapezoidal cross section.
