The Alto Lapin was introduced for the Japanese market with a with a 5-door hatchback body. The car is available with two engine options such as a 657 cc inline-3 dohc engine that is able to produce 54 hp and 657 cc inline-3 turbo dohc engine that produces 60 hp along with a 4-speed automatic or 5-speed manual transmission. The Alto Lapin has a very boxy shape and it received lot of attraction from the buyers, especially females who preferred to purchase the car. It has a wheelbase of 2,360 mm, length of 3,395 mm, width of 1,475 mm and height of 1,495-1,505 mm.
