Korean Automobile Giant Hyundai has recently launched its quite anticipated ‘Eon’ small car. The Eon has little or no similarity with its predecessors, namely the Santro and i10. It has been more than a year now that this car has been on the drawing board. Hyundai India has competitively priced the Eon at Rs. 2,69,000 for the base model to Rs. 3,71,000 for the top model ( ex-showroom New Delhi ).
Just like the i10, i20, and Santro Hyundai is exclusively manufacturing the Eon only in India, thus reducing the price in India. India being the major market for Hyundai since its launch in India. Eon will compete with compete with the base model of Spark, and Maruti Alto, Placing it below Santro. The small car has a 814cc ( 3 cylinder engine ) which delivers a healthy 55 bhp and 76.5 Nm Torque. The premium model has features such as power steering, power windows, air conditioning, body coloured bumpers, music system with 4 speakers with usb and aux-in.
Priced quite aggressively, the Hyundai Eon is destined for success in the small car segment in India, which is ever growing more competitive. Hyundai has already toppled charts in pre-launch sales booking. Competitors like Alto, Spark, Nano and now the Eon will sale like hot cakes mainly due to the pricing, which is a steal at 3.75 lakh. Inspired by the fluidic concept design, which is being found in most Hyundai models being launched lately, the Eon is destined for success.
