Toyota corolla is an assembly of both compact and sub compact cars produced by the Japanese automotive company Toyota. Corolla has been through several generations of redesigning after its first introduction in 1966. Corollas are still in circulation. There are other designs that use the chassis used for corolla like for example Sprinter, Sprinter Trueno, Corolla Levin and Corolla Ceres. The first generation of the corolla called the E10 was introduced in October 1966, second E20 in may 1970, third E30 40 50 60 range in April 1974, fourth E70 in march 1979, fifth e80 in may 1983, sixth e90 in may 1987, seventh e100 in June 1991, eighth e110 in may 1995, ninth e120 130 in November 2000 and the tenth e140 150 in October 2006. The corolla matrix also known the matrix shares its platform with the corolla e120 and 140. The sales figures of the corolla matrix and sedan are presently combined in reports. Along with the e30 the Daihatsu Charmant was produced through the e70 series. The second generation e20 series had a more rounded body and new OHV engines were supplemented. The third generation designs were bigger, rounder and heavier with two door lift backs. The fourth generation variants had a square edged design. Simple and complex treatment for the grill, tail and head lights were given to the corollas and sprinters respectively. The e80 came around with a no frill design, sharp edge and contemporary sloping front bonnet. These were all front wheel drives so far. The e90 had an aerodynamic and more rounded style.
