ML 63 AMG, the most powerful Mercedes-Benz M-Class – a mega SUV was born to fight against BMW X5 M – will be exposed, for the first time in the world, for two days, at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
X5 M, the SUV from the BMW which snapped of power – will get to know better its main opponent after a couple of days.
The already consecrated BMW X5 M and the new edition of the Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG SUVs are not the only “doped” cars in the list of the auto manufacturers offers, but, knowing the rivalry between the two German premium brands, it’s hard to believe that any of them makes any movement without reference, first, once to the other.
The top of the M-Class from Mercedes-Benz will therefore be exposed to the world’s first Thursday in Los Angeles Auto Show. What is the new ML 63 AMG proposing?
First, a new engine, the same V8. Instead of the old 6.3 liter engine, the teutonic SUV will get one with a capacity of “only” 5.5 liters. It’s probably the way Mercedes-Benz understands the concept of downsizing!
The “small” V8 develops, however, between 520 (standard) and 550 horsepower (version AMG Performance Package) and reaches a maximum torque of 760 Nm – crazy enough to sprint from 0 to 100 km / h in 4.6, respectively, 4.7 seconds.
The manufacturer has not forgotten to point out that the new ML 63 AMG – without the AMG Performance Package – is more powerful (15 hp) and economic (33% – official combined fuel consumption: 14.7 l/100 km) than the old SUV with the same indicative.
