

The Datsun DC-3 is a lightweight car that was developed by Nissan in the year 1952. This was first sports car that was produced by the company. It was available with a 860 cc Nissan D10 straight-4 engine that is capable of producing about 25 hp at 3600 rpm and a torque of 4.9 kg/m at 2400 rpm along with a 3-speed manual transmission. The car was able to reach a top speed of around 43 mph. It also features side badges were available with DATSUN 20 naming on it. The Datsun DC-3 had leaf springs that were used in the suspension and the transmission. It has a seating capacity for 4 passengers. The car was available with a very cute styling which really very unique way to describe the car during that period where the cars were mentioned to be bold and dashing. The interior was developed with two buckets in the front along with a bench in the back of the car. About 50 units were only produced and about 30 units were sold. The remaining cars had their bodies removed and rolling chassis were developed into trucks. The Datsun DC-3 had a wheelbase of 2150 mm, length of 3510 mm, width of 1360 mm, height of 1450mm and it also weighed about 750 kg. Only few models have been seen running on the road even today and the company also owns one still that has been displayed in their office building.
