Cherry wants to prove that it passed the ”copy” part of the concepts from the Chinese auto show and that it is really original.
The first one, called the Shooting Sport Concept is very balanced and even approaches a stylistic issue fpr the Europe, giving up the specific parts of the “chinese” that we used to criticize them so far until now.
Apart from the front, the car has the flying “smile” of the Prius, the rest of the car consists of edges and corners, which does not provide nothing than to give dynamism to the concept. We could even take the risk and say that this category is assigned to this hot hatch model - but with many reservations and only aesthetic. The inside does not disappoint, by being relatively uniform in design, despite the plastics suitable for a toy boat. It is, however, evolved from other concepts so far, although a possible production model could not face the competition from the European small class.
For the second concept, the Chinese have turned to the Italian Cherry Bertone and they made a great choice, because the compact SUV made by them ,since it falls in a sober line, pleasant and has no connection with the kitsch fenomen. Called Tiggo, we could say that this car looks like it was adapted to the Opel Zafira and it is equipped with the gasoline and diesel engines, corresponding with Euro V standards.
Does Chinese have plans a litle too bold? This remains to be seen, but given the fact of the interest of all major manufacturers for the Chinese market, they could in the next decade to witness a ”yellow invasion” in the automotive field.
