Honda sets the stage for the launch of the new Accord in Europe with a prototype wagon version that comes with a new generation i-DTEC engine.
The premiere’s Accord Tourer Concept gives us some details about the design that will follow the implementation of the new generation of Honda Accord, which has already started in the U.S. market, both in sedan and coupe.
Concept looks wider, sportier and has a more dynamic approach than the current generation, giving part to the practical aspect of a car with such a body. A new generation of chassis will make its debut for the new Accord, a technical platform that will print the Japanese model a much better drving and a dynamic. The engine range will fully respect the future Euro 5 standards and it is based in principle on the same 2.0 liter petrol engine, 2.4 liter diesel engine and the now evolved 2.2 liter i-DTEC engine.
All engines have received an additional performance, while consumption and CO2 emissions were both drastically reduced just to fot the new Euro 5 standards. Honda also said that current engines from all versions will be modified “a little bit”, so that in the nearly future, they will all meet the Euro 6 standards, thing that it will surely happen due to its latest performances on engines, design, dynamic and power. The launch of the new Honda Accord, both sedan and Tourer will take place at the Geneva Motor Show this year, so that the official price of the car with its versions will remain unknown.
