

The Jeep CJ-3A is a public version of the Willys Military Jeep which was introduced in the year 1949 and was produced till 1953. The vehicle was available with a 4-cylinder engine that was able to produce about 60 hp at 4000 rpm and a torque of 106 lb-ft at 2000 rpm along with a 3-speed T-90 transmission. It also features a Dana 18 transfer case, Dana 41 or 44 rear axle and Dana 25 front axle. This model had a one-piece windshield along with a vent and wipers at the bottom. It also had an updated up suspension which featured agricultural implements specially made the vehicle. The Jeep CJ-3A was available with shorter rear wheel well such as the top front edge till rear of the body was about 32 inches and the driver’s seat were moved a little rearward. The vehicle had a wheelbase of 80.0 inches, length of 123.12 inches, width of 57.12 inches, height of 66.38 inches and it also weighed about 2,665 lb. The bumper on this model was bolted directly to the front frame horns which was not the same in the previous models. The Jeep CJ-3A was available with improved fuel pump, carburetor, camshaft and front axle shaft design. Totally, about 131,843 units were produced by the company during its production period which also includes a bare-bones Farm Jeep version and about 550 units were specially made for the Japanese police and the forestry agency.
