

The Skoda Fabia R2 is a new rally car which is based on the series production Fabia along with updated features. It is available with a naturally aspirated engine 1.6 liter, 16 valve engine that is able to generate about 177 hp at 7,500 rpm and 143 lb-ft of torque at 5,500 rpm along with a 5-speed sequential transmission. The car has been designed with retuned suspension as well as a modified chassis which helps the driver to handle in rally-like driving conditions. This model took about two years for its completion where it was built and tested only for rally purpose. The engine electronics were specially developed by Magneti-Marelli. The Skoda Fabia R2 has also received the FIA homologation which helps it to participate in rallies. The car has been offered for wider range of customers who are planning to purchase a reliable and affordable race model. The undercarriage of the car has been particularly made according to the rally specifications. The Skoda Fabia R2 has appeared in the role of pace car in places like Rally Bohemia as well as the Barum Czech Rally.
