

The Porsche Macan is a new two-door compact crossover SUV that is based on the Audi Q5 and is expected to attract younger buyers. It will be powered by a 3.0 liter V-6 engine that is able to produce about 290 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. The car will be available with few updated features such as wheels and tires, brakes along with optional carbon-ceramic discs, complete exhaust system with a switchable free-flow sport muffler and Sport Chrono pack with launch control. The name Macan has been derived from the Indonesian word which means tiger will come with dynamics, power, suppleness and fascination. The Porsche Macan will have new exterior and interior panels, but the windshield angle, firewall and roof pillars will be similar to the Audi. The interior has been developed with sporty seats, dashboard from the upcoming Boxster and a different steering column. The base model will be introduced with a 4-seater option and another 5-seat option will be available later. The exterior will be very much similar to the Audi Q5 which includes similar dimensions which will be slightly lower, shorter and wider. The Porsche Macan will have new wider 19 and 20 inch wheels which will provide light weight, ease of handling and agility. It will be available as a more efficient and sporty model which is expected to expand the Porsche segment in the SUV sector. The car is expected to enter into production by 2013 with some additional features.
