The Alfa Romeo Nuvola is a 2-door concept coupe that was unveiled at the 1996 Paris International Auto Show. The car was named after Tazio Nuvolari, the legendary Italian race driver and it has a front-mounted engine along with a four wheel drive. It features a 2.5 liter twin-turbo 60-degree V6 engine that is capable of producing about 296 hp at 6000 rpm and a torque of 285 lb-ft at 3000 rpm along with a 6-speed manual transmission. The car is able to accelerate from 0-60 mph in about 6 seconds along with an estimated top speed of around 174 mph. The Alfa Romeo Nuvola has a length of 4,286 mm, width of 1,859 mm and wheelbase of 2,600 mm. This model is based on a separate tubular aluminum frame and a body that is made of polyester. It has been designed to handle virtually any body style starting from coupe to station wagon. It also features smooth body lines, slender, horizontal tail-lights, side panels and a tread motif designed 18 inch wheels along with Big Michelin 235/40 ZR tyres. The bumpers have been incorporated in the body for a clutter-free line. The Alfa Romeo Nuvola is a best example for creating a new generation of limited series sports cars. The car is an engineering model more than a concept which can be used to examine the possibility of making a quick and inexpensive way of changing the market needs for new off-road vehicles.
