The new Skoda Rapid is increasing, step by step. Until the official premiere from Paris Motor Show in 2012, the officials have sought to test our patience, but they revealed us some pictures, sketches and some additional teasers.
The new Skoda Rapid would be an average sedan as proportions, with a length of about 4.5 meters and a 500 liter trunk, wrapped in a design with simple lines, that inspire robustness and reliability, so it is almost the same as the first generation of Skoda Octavia. Skoda Rapid will be launched at the world premiere at Paris Motor Show 2012, but until then we get some official sketches that show us what we have already seen from the spy photos so far: the Skoda Rapid will be a sedan, whose style was influenced by Volkswagen’s sober design, which is not bat at all, because a car is very popular among the serious familiar buyers. Beside the Skoda Mission L concept, the new Skoda Rapid will look a bit less sophisticated, but, overall, will maintain the proportions and details of the concept. In addition, the interior is announced at a very good quality compared to what the competitors are offering - one that will include, obviously, the new generation of Dacia Logan 2. Skoda’s platform is derived from the Volkswagen Polo, but the sedan will offer a longer wheelbase, which will have a more generous interior space. The engines will be the same as the ones on VW Polo and Skoda Fabia, so apparently we are talking only about small and medium-power engines, because the role of the family sportier counterpart will take the Seat Toledo.
