

The 2009 BMW EfficientDynamics is a new 2+2-seater concept car which is available with a plug-in full-hybrid technology. It also features a 3-cylinder turbodiesel engine and two electric motors that are capable of producing about 163 hp and a torque of 214 lb-ft along with a double-clutch transmission. The car is able to accelerate from 62 mph in about 4.8 seconds along with an electronically limited top speed of around 160 mph. The average fuel consumption during the EU test cycle was 3.76 liters/100 kilometers and it also has a carbon dioxide emission rating of 99 grams per kilometer. The 2009 BMW EfficientDynamics also uses a new approach in its design and the interior clearly displays a unique combination of supreme efficiency as well as sporting performance of the company. The car features tires and wheels of quite unusual size which further improves the aerodynamic qualities and keeps the rolling resistance to a minimum. Both chassis and suspension of the car has been made of aluminum and the outer skin of the door is made of a special polycarbonate glass which darkens automatically as a function of the light shining. The 2009 BMW EfficientDynamics has a length of 181.1 inches, width of 74.8 inches, height of 48.8 inches and it has a weigh of 3,076 lb. There are also components like body-contoured seats, backbone structure, seat padding along with personalized fillings, central air vent which increases motoring comfort and multi-functionality is presented visibly within the car.
