The Tesla Model X is an all new full-sized battery electric crossover sport utility vehicle which was first introduced at the Geneva Motor Show in the year 2012. This model will be available with a choice of two lithium-ion battery packs that is expected to generate a power of 60 to 85 kWh. It is capable of reaching 0-60 mph in about 4.4 seconds along with a four-wheel drive option. The car has been specially developed from the full-size sedan platform of the Tesla Model S and it will be developed at the Tesla Factory in Fremont, California. The Tesla Model X interior is very similar to the Model S and it also features a 19 inch touchscreen at the center of the dashboard. The car can be controlled with the touchscreen located at the center of the dashboard along with few buttons, except for the Push Button Start. The structure of the vehicle in between the front and rear cast aluminum subframes is helpful in increasing its wheelbase for about four inches than the Model S. The Tesla Model X is available with falcon-wing doors for rear passengers which open upward. The vehicle has been specially designed with a seating capacity for seven passengers. It also features two trunks, one at the rear and another under up front which can be used for carrying luggage. This model is expected to enter into the market by 2014 with U.S. federal tax credit and incentives.
