

The Porsche 804 is a Formula One racing car that was produced during the year 1962. It has been powered by a 1.4 liter flat-8 air-cooled engine that is able to generate about 180 hp at 9,200 rpm along with a 6-speed manual transmission. This model also had aluminum cylinder along with an aluminum-alloy head assembly made of their own. The car is capable of reaching a top speed of around 168 mph along with a rear wheel drive option. The front and rear suspension features in-board mounted shock absorbers, double wishbones and longitudinal torsion bars. The Porsche 804 was available with a wheelbase of 2300 mm, length of 3600 mm and it also had a weight of around 996.5 lbs. The rolling chassis of the car was designed tightly in an aluminum skin along with a interference in the slippery shape includes a small hole for oil cooler in the nose. The first two models developed by the company was introduced at the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort and later models were entered for Dan Gurney and Jo Bonnier. The Porsche 804 was developed with an aluminum body on steel tubular frame. The company also entered a single car at Monaco for Gurney as they were interested in further development of this car. The car was able to experience success at the non-championship event and it also updated with new features for better handling, but it failed to reach up to the level.
