

The Pontiac Banshee XP-833 is a small two-seater concept car that was first introduced in the year 1964 as a middle-model of Corvette and Camaro. The car had a fiberglass body and it was powered by a unique 3769 cc, 6-cylinder engine that was capable of producing about 165 bhp along with a 4-speed manual transmission and it also weighed around 2200 lbs. The front suspension featured a independent coil springs and the rear had live axle along with coil springs. This model failed to enter into production as looked very similar to the Corvette model. The Pontiac Banshee XP-833 was based on the mid-sized corporate A-body coil spring and 2286 mm wheelbase steel platform chassis. It is not been developed on the heavy A-body perimeter frame and a dramatic fiberglass body. The car also had a long nose, swooping coke-bottle profile, short deck layout, broad grille along with chrome bumper surround, steeply raked windshield, bulging fenders, fastback roof on a hint of a spoiler and triple slit taillights that is placed to cut off rear fascia. The Pontiac Banshee XP-833 is available with cooling air intakes under the fixed seats along with movable pedals and long nose. The exterior has been painted in silver color along with dramatic body lines upholstered in bright red and fitted with Rally II styled wheels. It had a high performance head that was specially made by the first applications of a fiberglass-reinforced toothed timing belt.
