

The Seat 131 was a small family car that was available from the year 1975 to 1984. The car was available with different versions and different engine options that are capable of producing a power output of 55 to 84 kW. It also featured either 4-speed-manual gearbox, 5-speed manual gearbox or 3-speed automatic gearbox along with a rear wheel drive option. The car was able to reach a top speed of 90 to 110 mph depending upon the model. This model had an estimated fuel economy of 22.4 to 35 mpg depending upon its version. It also had front disc brakes, rear drum brakes along with rack and pinion steering. The Seat 131 has a length of 4,231 mm to 4,264 mm, width of 1,651 mm, height of 1,381 mm to 1,389 mm and it also weighs about 2,170 lb to 2,600 lb. The front suspension featured MacPherson struts, telescopic shock absorbers, coil springs, stabilizing bar and the rear suspension was available with telescopic shock absorbers, live axle, coil springs. This model was first introduced at the 1975 Barcelona Motor Show and till now about 412,948 units have been produced by the company. The Seat 131 was based on the Fiat 131 which was presented nine months earlier in Turin. The car also featured a diesel engine which was used almost four years after its introduction in the market. This model also won car of the year in 1979 which was announced by the Spanish magazine Motor Pres.
