Mazda presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show the new CX-5 compact crossover. It benefits both of the new Kodo design language and of the new SKYACTIV technologies. The officials Japanese manufacturer from Mazda came to the Frankfurt Motor Show accompanied by the production version of CX-5. The new compact crossover is the younger brother’s CX-7 and it is derived prom Mazda Minagi concept, which was presented at this year’s Geneva Motor Show. The new CX-5 is the first model of Japanese courtyard enjoying the new Kodo design language- Soul Movement. Also the compact crossover has received SKYACTIV technologies, involving a new generation of engines, transmissions, body and chassis.
Inside, there is the influence of the new design language. Horizontal lines were stretched cockpit and center console received a metallic finish and a 5.8-inch color display. The rear seats of the new Japanese crossover can be folded using a 40-20-40 split. The center can be completely folded thus giving rise to individual sites.
New Mazda CX-5 will benefit from the propeller 2.0-liter petrol with four-cylinder and direct injection from SKYACTIV-G generation. Japanese engineers claim that the new engine has a compression ratio of 14:0:1, it also has variable valve control and a redesign of disposal. The new variable engine that will debut on the new CX-5 is 10 percent lighter, can consume 15% less fuel and emits 15 percent less CO2 into the atmosphere.
In the front-wheel drive version, the new Japanese engine produces 165 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and develops a torque of 210 Nm at 4,000 rpm. All-wheel drive version, the engine SKYACTIV-G 2.0-liter produces 160 hp and develops 208 Nm.
