

The Dodge Sidewinder was a concept car that introduced at the SEMA convention in the year 1997 in Las Vegas. It has been powered by a front-mounted 8.0 liter V10 engine that is able to generate about 640 hp at 5800 rpm and a torque of 530 lb-ft at 4000 rpm along with a 4-speed automatic transmission. The car is capable of reaching from 0-60 mph in just 4 seconds along with an estimated top speed of around 170 mph. This model was introduced as a futuristic version of the Dodge Dakota convertible. The Dodge Sidewinder is available with a wheelbase of wheelbase of 2,845 mm, length of 4,801 mm, width of 1,880 mm, height of 1,422 mm and it has a weight of around 2,700 lb. The grille and the front lines of the car have been inspired from the Dodge truck, but it is placed in a section of the floorpan. The wheels are completely different when compared to other concept models from the company. It has wheels with 21 inch diameter, 22 inches in the rear along with 8 and 11 inch width. The Dodge Sidewinder is available with a square-tube frame that uses an unequal length control arm front suspension along with coilovers, coilover dampers and a Viper independent rear end. This model was originally started by the company as a design exercise and its convertible nature resurrects the old Dakota ragtop. The car never entered into production and only one unit was produced.
