

The 2012 Ford Focus ECOnetic is expected to be the most fuel efficiency model in its class and it will go on sales during this year. It is available with a 1.6 liter Ford Duratorq TDCi diesel engine that is capable of producing about 103 hp along with a new 6-speed Durashift manual transmission. The engine is connected to the Ford Eco Mode, Shift Indicator Light, Ford Auto-start-stop and Smart Regenerative Charging. The vehicle also features common-rail fuel injection system that is completely redesigned. The new system is able to provide more increased combustion efficiency and precise control with a fuel consumption of 80mpg on the combined cycle. The 2012 Ford Focus ECOnetic will be distinguished with new features such as special low-drag ECOnetic wheel covers that are more streamlined when compared to a conventional alloy wheel design, under shields and deflectors. The vehicle will be available with innovative Active Grille Shutter which will increase its aerodynamics with vents that will control the airflow through the grille for cooling system and engine compartment. The 2012 Ford Focus ECOnetic transmission has been specially optimized to prevent frictional losses and it also utilizes special low friction transmission oil. Gunnar Herrmann, the global medium car line director of the company says this model will be a testament for commitment to environmental leadership and relentless drive for technological innovation. The vehicle is expected to be great model to drive and its price will be announced during the sales.
