

The 2000 Lotus Extreme is a concept car that was introduced at the British International Motor Show and the Coventry University Design Show. This model has been powered by a hybrid system which includes an electric motor and a natural gas two-stroke engine along with a 6-speed sequential transmission. The car is able to produce ultra-low emissions along with high performance that is perfect for highway use. It is also capable of consuming fuel of more than 100 mpg. This model was specially developed and designed by student Ted Mannerfeit along with Lotus. The 2000 Lotus Extreme is capable of reaching 0-60 mph in about 5 seconds along with an estimated top speed of around 150 mph. The car is able to lean in turning it like a motorcycle with the help of its suspension. It has a seating capacity for only two passengers along with a fighter-cockpit interior which is based on the design inspiration from motorcycles, aerospace programs and boats. The design of the car mainly focuses on the key beliefs of the company the car small, lightweight, a technology masterpiece and fun to drive. The 2000 Lotus Extreme is available with a total weight of about 450 kg which helps to provide good performance. The exterior of the car has been designed in striking metallic silver and it also has darkened windows.
