

The Aston Martin DP212 is a sports car that was first introduced in the year 1962 to participate at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The car was specially built on the chassis of DB4GT and it featured longer bodywork that was specially designed to run at the high speeds at Le Mans. It was available with a 4.0 liter Inline-6-cylinder engine that is capable producing about 330 bhp at 6,000 rpm and a torque of 287 lb-ft at 5,300 rpm. This model also featured a 5-speed synchromesh manual transmission and it was able to reach a top speed of around 167.8 mph. The Aston Martin DP212 had a wheelbase of 7.10 ft, length of 14.6 ft, width of 5.6 inches, height of 4.2 ft and it also weighs about 2,150 lb. The front suspension featured double wishbones, coil springs along with altered bump stop and roll centre. The rear suspension was available with a de dion system torsion bar springing, trailing arms and Watt linkage along with coil springs. The Aston Martin DP212 had a chassis was made of lightweight tubular steelframe along with rectangular box section and magnesium or aluminum alloy streamlined body. The car also faced few problems such as high-end stability problems which troubled the car when it reached high speeds at Le Mans. It is considered to be one of the oldest of the Project cars that was potentially the slowest and it also maintained racing consistently.
