

The Daihatsu Compagno Spider is a convertible version of the standard Compagno model that was produced in the year 1965. The car is available with a 958 cc, 4-cylinder engine that is capable of producing about 64 bhp at 6500 rpm and a torque of 56 ft-lb at 4500 rpm along with a 4-speed manual transmission. It is able to accelerate from 0-60 mph in about 18.5 seconds along with an estimated top speed of around 90 mph. This model was developed before the acquisition of Daihatsu by the Toyota in 1967. The Daihatsu Compagno Spider was introduced with a wheelbase of 2220 mm, length of 3795 mm, width of 1445 mm, height of 1350 mm and it had a weight of around 1742 lb. The car also featured a great braking system that helped in both performance and safety. It was built on a different chassis and a separate body along with a rear wheel drive. This was the first model to go on sale in the United Kingdom that was developed in Japan. The Daihatsu Compagno Spider was available with an excellent build quality along with intricate styling. The car was produced in limited numbers and it was withdrawn soon after its launch in the market. Most of the features in this model are also seen some of the other models produced by the company. The standard and the spider model didn’t have much difference apart from the convertible feature.
