

The 2012 Ford Edge EcoBoost is a new sport utility vehicle that takes the midsize crossover to the next level. It has been powered by a latest EcoBoost 2.0 liter 4-cylinder engine that is able to generate about 240 hp at 5,500 rpm and a torque of 270 lb-ft at 3,000 rpm along with a unique 6F35 6-speed automatic transmission. The transmission has been optimized for fuel efficiency with the help of active transmission warm-up that helps to reduce internal friction when the powertrain approaches normal operating temperature. The vehicle has an estimated fuel economy of 21 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway. The 2012 Ford Edge EcoBoost is available with superior efficiency along with plenty of frontal area. It also features leather-trimmed and heated seats up front, dual-zone climate control, a 390-watt Sony sound system, a rear view camera, a 10-way power driver’s seat, SYNC infotainment and back-up sensors. It has an excellent navigation system, BLIS blind-spot detection, Drivers Entry Package, a power rear lift gat and push-button start. The 2012 Ford Edge EcoBoost interior is available with five-way steering wheel controls and a pair of 4.2 inch LED screens in the gauge cluster. The vehicle is capable of reaching from 0-60 mph in about 7 seconds and it also has weight of around 3,998 lbs. Other features include a stiff chassis along with MacPherson struts at the front and an independent rear suspension featuring blade, integrated knuckle and lateral links.
