

The 2012 Red Bull RB8 is a Formula One racing car that was introduced at the 2012 Formula One season. The car has been powered by a 2,400 cc V8 engine that is limited to 18,000 rpm and it also features a Red Bull 7-speed, hydraulic power shift transmission. This model was driven by Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber. It was first launched at the first pre-season test at Jerez and Sebastien Buemi, the former Scuderia Toro Rosso driver took the role of a test driver. Both front and rear suspension featured Carbon composite double wishbone suspension. The 2012 Red Bull RB8 has been designed with stepped-nose to conform along with new regulations that will improve safety in case of a collision with another car. The car also has a slot cut into the step of its nose section and Adrian Newey has said that it has no use other than to provide cooling for the driver. It participated in three pre-season tests including one in Jerez and two in Barcelona. The 2012 Red Bull RB8 first race was at the Australian Grand Prix where the car was qualified on the third row of the grid by setting fifth and sixth fastest times respectively. It also has a chassis of carbon composite monocoque that is incorporate to the engine as a fully stressed member. The car is available with 13 inch diameter OZ wheels along with Pirelli P Zero and Cinturato tires.
