

The Volvo 780 is a mid-size car that was introduced at the International Auto Show in the year 1985 and the it was produced till 1990. The car was available with five different engine options along with either 4-speed automatic or 4-speed manual & electronic transmission. It was developed by Carrozzeria Bertone in Turin, Italy similar to its previous models. The hood, trunk as well as the roof lines were slightly lowered when compared to the standard 700 series profile and C-pillar was also wider along with more gradual slope down to the trunk. The Volvo 780 had a headroom that was slightly improved when compared to previous version because of Bertone’s mere 1 cm lowering of the roofline. The car used chrome to highlight the features such as bumpers, side moldings and bumpers. It was available with Volvo’s independent rear suspension that also featured self-leveling Nivomat shocks to keep the ride height correct. This model also had a hot rod-formal roof and leather-swathed interior which helped in attracting most of the customers. The Volvo 780 was introduced with a length of 4,800-4,785 mm, width of 1,760 mm, height of 1,400 mm and it had a weight of around 3,400 lb. This model was considered to be the most stylish limited-production European touring cars during its production period. About 8,518 units were developed by the company during its production period. During the final years, this model was just named as Coupe with turbo guise.
