The Alfa Romeo Vola is a concept car that was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in the year 2001. It was mainly developed to provide a new technique for the convertible roofs. This model features a naturally aspirated V6 engine that is able to generate about 192 bhp at 5600 rpm and a torque of 192 ft-lbs at 4400 rpm. It is available with a 5-speed manual transmission along with a front wheel drive option. The front suspension has McPherson struts, anti-roll bar, lower wishbones, coil springs and the rear suspension features multi-link, coil springs. The Alfa Romeo Vola has a wheelbase of 2540 mm, length of 4160 mm, width of 1810 mm and a height of 1280 mm. The car also features a rotating robbery that spins just behind the passenger compartment. The rotating robbery has been placed on top of the bootlid to avoid shortage of the luggage space. Even though the new system looked simple, the engine rotating roof was expected to be powerful and small enough to fit in the small space. The Alfa Romeo Vola was available with a rack-and-pinion, power assisted steering along with ventilated discs front, solids rear and anti-lock braking system. This was the first model to feature an innovative LF roof design and it was also a highly advanced car at the time of its introduction. The rear end of the car is similar to other Alfa Romeo models with high-placed and sleekly-shaped taillights.
