

The Jaguar Mark V was first introduced at the 1948 London Motor Show and the production model was available till the year 1951. The vehicle was introduced with two engine options such as 2.5 liter straight-6 pushrod ohv engine that was able to generate about 104 bhp and 3.5 liter straight-6 pushrod ohv engine which is capable of producing 126 hp along with a 4-speed manual transmission. It had a new chassis with independent front suspension along with double wishbones as well as torsion bar which was later used by the company in other models. The Jaguar Mark V was available with a wheelbase of 3,048 mm, length of 4,763 mm, width of 1,765 mm and a height of 1,588 mm. The vehicle was capable of reaching from 0-60 mph in about 20.4 seconds along with an estimated top speed of around 90 mph. It also had a fuel consumption of about 18.2 miles per imperial gallon. The exterior features include 16 inch steel-disc type wheels which was smaller than the previous model. The Jaguar Mark V featured a distinctive styling such as a tuck in curve at the base of the rear window. It also had a more streamlined-looking body along with hydraulic brakes, chrome grille, radiator cap mascot and all pressed steel body. The drophead coupe is known to be the highly sought out model which also had rear-wheel spats. About 10,466 units were produced by the company during its production period.
