

The 2011 Peugeot VELV is a new lightweight urban electric vehicle that is capable of transporting three people and it was first unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show as a concept. The car is available with an electric powertrain that is capable of producing an output of about 20 kW and combined with a weight of 650 kg. It has an energy consumption of just 85 Wh per km, estimated range of 100 km and a top speed of around 110 km/h which is an environmental footprint that is similar to a train trip. The 2011 Peugeot VELV is a new compact urban commuter that is similar to other concepts that was introduced recently by PSA which includes EX1 and BB1. The VELV stands for Vehicule Electrique Leger de Ville which means lightweight urban vehicle. This model is also very similar to a three-wheeler and it features a minimal rear track along with a turning radius of about 7.20 meters. The exterior has been distinguished by some of the recent styling cues of the company. The 2011 Peugeot VELV interior is available with information system that indicates in real time the autonomy of the car and finds out the charging stations in the available range. The car has been specially developed to target the corporate fleet, rental companies and private urban commuters. Other features include gull-wing windows along with conventionally hinged side doors, heating system, Li-Ion battery stack, electronic management system and dynamic driving.
