The 2012 Toyota Yundong Shuangqing is a new hybrid model that was unveiled at the Beijing Motor Show as a concept model. The car will be available with a dual support that also includes two power sources of the petrol-electric hybrid system. This model has been specially developed for the Chinese market and it will serve as Toyota’s corporate slogan in China. The name of the car carries a particular meaning in Mandarin Chinese where Yundong means image of movement among clouds and shuangqing expresses that suggests dual supports, signifying the two power sources of the gasoline-electric hybrid system. The 2012 Toyota Yundong Shuangqing exterior looks stylish and within production parameters. The hybrid system has been developed at the Toyota’s R&D center in Changshu and the company is expected to be proud of their homegrown nature of Chinese hybrid technology. Akio Toyoda, the TMC President said they want to make the people of China experience with hybrid technology. The tariffs and partnership rule of China have made the company develop such a new technology in the country, he added. The 2012 Toyota Yundong Shuangqing has just been introduced as a concept model and at present there are no plans to put it into production by the company, but it may enter the market by 2015. The sharp lines that extend from the A-pillars in other models from the company have not been included in this model even though it is Toyota’s trademark.
