

The Alfa Romeo 8C 2900 was a sports car that was specially developed to compete in races such as Mille Miglia from the year 1935 to 1938. I9t was available with a 2.9 liter, inline 8-cylinder engine that was capable of producing an output of about 180 bhp at 5200 rpm along with an unsynchronized 4-speed rear transaxle including reverse gear. The engine also featured two Roots type superchargers that were available with two updraught Weber carburettors. It also had fully independent suspension along with Dubonnet-type trailing arm suspension and coil springs at front as well as swing axles along with a transverse leaf spring at the rear. The Alfa Romeo 8C 2900 was introduced with a wheelbase of 2,718 mm, length of 3,000 mm, width of 1700 mm and it had a weight of around 2889 lbs. The car had an estimated fuel economy of about 11 mpg and it was able to reach a top speed of around 115 mph. This model became one of the most successful versions of competition cars produced by the company during that period. The Alfa Romeo 8C 2900 had a chassis that was similar to other competition cars which includes features such as twin trailing arms up front and swing-arm suspension at the rear along with both friction as well as hydraulic dampers. The car also had 10-main bearing crankshafts and cylinder head was integrated to the block along with hemispherical combustion chambers and domed pistons.
