

The Ford Falcon Cobra is a limited edition car that was in the year 1978 by Ford Australia. This model was expected to enter into racing and it was also available as a street version. The first two hundred models produced by the company were available with a 5.8 liter 8-cylinder petrol engine and the later models featured a 4.9 liter engine along with an automatic or manual transmission. This model was based on the XC Hardtop which was available as a four-door sedan or station wagon. It also had an optional features to allow homologation for racing such as racing seats, twin thermostatically controlled fans and an engine oil cooler. The Ford Falcon Cobra exterior was painted with white along with bright blue racing stripes and Cobra emblems. It also featured body shells which were painted in blue first and the intended blue stripes were covered with a white coat painted over the top. The car was available with 4-wheel disc brakes, front & rear spoilers, limited slip axles and 15 inch bathurst globe wheels. The interiors features include a sport cloth seats in black along with blue inserts. The Ford Falcon Cobra is still highly considered by most of the collectors all across Australia and most of the models are still available. Other features include fully detailed suspension, air conditioning, cassette player and more. Another new limited edition Cobra was introduced by the company in 2007 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the model.
