

The Dodge Coronet Super Bee is a two-door muscle car that produced as a limited edition model from the year 1968 to 1971. The car was introduced with a 6.3 liter engine that is capable of producing about 325 hp at 5200 rpm and a torque of 480 ft-lbs along with a 3-speed manual transmission. This model was the company’s low-priced muscle car which was based on the design of Dodge Coronet. It was distinguished from the B Body designation assigned to Chrysler’s mid-sized cars. This model had a heavy-duty suspension, high-performance tire and a stripe with bee logo was wrapped around its tail. The Dodge Coronet Super Bee exterior was available with larger rear wheel openings, fancier grille, taillight ornamentation, bumble bee tail stripe and actual die cast chrome plated Bee medallions. The three-dimensional medallions were mounted in a higher position in the hood area and taillight area of the car during the first three years of production. The interior features include speedometer dash cluster, sophisticated gauge, Hurst Competition-Plus shifter along with Hurst linkage and three-spoke steering wheel. The Dodge Coronet Super Bee had a wheelbase of 2,972 mm and it also weighed about 3435 lbs. The car also received a cosmetic redesign along with a new front end which featured twin-looped front bumper during its production period. This model was developed at the Alexander Brothers Custom Shop and it was first unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show as a concept model before being put into production.
